Job Summary:
Join our customer’s team as a Human/Social Science AI Trainer and play a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of AI with a human touch. In this remote, part-time position, you will leverage your emotional literacy and concise communication skills to evaluate and enhance conversational AI systems, ensuring they reflect authentic human interactions and nuanced sentiment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and rate brief dialogue snippets across multiple axes, including emotional sentiment and conversational clarity.
- Identify, tag, and document sentiment shifts, conversational faults, and escalation or closure cues within dialogues.
- Write clear, actionable notes explaining the rationale behind successful and unsuccessful responses.
- Engage in calibration sessions to align annotation standards and drive quality across the team.
- Contribute to the evolution of annotation guidelines by reporting recurring edge cases and suggesting updates.
- Collaborate closely with a distributed team, sharing insights and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Ensure accuracy and consistency in all annotations, maintaining high standards of detail and precision.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- BA/BS in Psychology, Sociology, Communications, English, Linguistics, or a related discipline.
- At least 4 years of professional experience as a Social/Human science specialist, in any of the disciplines layout above.
- Native or near-native English proficiency and strong cultural fluency with US or Western European norms.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with keen attention to emotional nuance and conversational flow.
- Demonstrated emotional literacy and the ability to assess complex social interactions.
- Meticulous, reliable, and detail-oriented, with a proven ability to follow step-by-step guidelines.
- Comfort working in a collaborative, remote environment with availability to overlap hours with a globally distributed team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in conversation analysis, qualitative research.
- Background in training, coaching, or user research roles involving detailed feedback-giving.
- Familiarity with iterative guideline development or QA processes.
