DataLens Africa is looking for an AI Data Curator / Data Engineer to help build, manage, and quality-assure the datasets that power AI language models for African languages.

At DataLens Africa, we build the high-quality language data that teaches AI to read, write, reason, and respond in African languages. We work with machine learning researchers, global health organisations, telcos, and foundation model companies who need data that reflects how people actually speak.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement data pipelines for collecting, cleaning, and structuring language data
• Develop quality assurance processes for annotation outputs
• Build tools and dashboards for monitoring data quality metrics
• Collaborate with linguists and annotators to define data schemas
• Manage data storage, versioning, and access controls
• Ensure compliance with data privacy and ethical AI standards

Requirements

• Experience with data engineering, ETL pipelines, or data curation
• Familiarity with NLP datasets and annotation workflows
• Proficiency in Python and SQL
• Understanding of data quality frameworks
• Based in Nigeria (remote)
