Job Summary:

Join our customer's team as a U.S. Tax Expert (CPA/EA) – Prompt & Scenario Development, where your deep tax expertise will drive the creation of innovative prompts and real-world scenarios for AI-driven assessments. This role places you at the intersection of advanced tax knowledge and technology, challenging you to design scenarios that reflect the complexities of U.S. individual tax preparation. You will contribute to cutting-edge technology by shaping how tax professionals are tested and trained.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, review, and refine prompts and rubrics that simulate real-life U.S. individual tax preparation scenarios.
  • Leverage tax expertise to create comprehensive, accurate test cases reflecting diverse taxpayer situations, including multi-state considerations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure authenticity, accuracy, and clarity in scenario development.
  • Analyze and adapt prompts based on evolving tax laws, IRS guidelines, and emerging state/local regulations.
  • Contribute insights to enhance AI-driven testing approaches for tax professionals.
  • Provide detailed written and verbal feedback to improve test content and ensure high assessment standards.
  • Maintain meticulous attention to detail to ensure scenarios meet current tax code requirements and best practices.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and/or Enrolled Agent (EA) license (U.S.).
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience preparing U.S. individual tax returns.
  • Expert knowledge of Form 1040, related schedules, and commonly used supporting documents (W-2, 1099 series, K-1, etc.).
  • Proficiency with state income tax returns, including experience in jurisdictions with unique credits, rules, or local taxes.
  • Exceptional analytical and detail-oriented tax problem-solving skills.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex tax topics clearly and concisely.
  • Demonstrated adaptability in interpreting and applying tax law to unfamiliar or complex scenarios.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with educational content creation or assessment development in a tax context.
  • Background in leveraging technology or AI tools within the tax or accounting industry.
  • Exposure to both high-volume and complex tax situations, including non-resident or multi-state filings.
