Retail Manager Expert

AfterQuery is seeking Retail Manager Experts to create and refine retail management challenges for training AI models. In this remote, flexible role, you will design and evaluate retail leadership scenarios that test the AI's ability to interpret and apply complex store management principles, ensuring that our models can navigate real-world team supervision, sales floor operations, and customer service situations with precision and practical insight. Your expertise will help bridge the gap between proven retail management practice and innovative AI solutions, making a tangible impact on the future of retail technology.

Commitment: 10 hours/week | Pay: $50 - $100/hr | Type: Contract

Responsibilities

• Develop high-quality retail management questions and case studies that challenge AI models on topics such as staff scheduling, team coaching, sales floor management, customer complaint resolution, inventory control, merchandising standards, performance metrics, and more.
• Evaluate and validate model responses, offering detailed feedback to ensure accuracy and adherence to retail management best practices and industry standards.
• Collaborate with a team of retail and technical experts to fine-tune question difficulty and ensure content is both challenging and educational.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (associate or bachelor's degree in Business, Retail Management, or related field preferred).
• Proven experience as a retail manager, department manager, or shift supervisor with a robust understanding of retail operations and team leadership.
• Exceptional analytical, written, and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail.

Preferred Qualifications

• Multiple years of retail management experience, ideally across diverse retail environments (specialty retail, big box, department stores, etc.).
• Prior involvement in retail training programs, store operations improvement, or retail technology initiatives.
• Experience with inventory management, visual merchandising, loss prevention, or sales performance optimization is a plus.
• Familiarity with AI or technology-driven retail applications is a plus.
