Recreation Worker Expert

AfterQuery is seeking Recreation Worker Experts to create and refine recreational programming challenges for training AI models. In this remote, flexible role, you will design and evaluate recreation scenarios that test the AI's ability to interpret and apply complex activity planning and facilitation principles, ensuring that our models can navigate real-world program development, participant engagement, and community recreation with precision and practical insight. Your expertise will help bridge the gap between proven recreation practice and innovative AI solutions, making a tangible impact on the future of recreation technology.

Commitment: 10 hours/week | Pay: $40 - $80/hr | Type: Contract

Responsibilities

• Develop high-quality recreation questions and case studies that challenge AI models on topics such as activity planning, participant safety, inclusive programming, equipment management, behavior management, event coordination, community engagement, and more.
• Evaluate and validate model responses, offering detailed feedback to ensure accuracy and adherence to recreation best practices and safety standards.
• Collaborate with a team of recreation and technical experts to fine-tune question difficulty and ensure content is both challenging and educational.

Required Qualifications

• Proven experience as a recreation worker, activity coordinator, or in recreation program delivery with a robust understanding of activity planning and participant management.
• High school diploma or equivalent (associate or bachelor's degree in Recreation Management, Kinesiology, Parks and Recreation, or related field preferred).
• Exceptional analytical, written, and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail.

Preferred Qualifications

• Multiple years of recreation experience, ideally across diverse settings (community centers, parks, camps, senior centers, therapeutic recreation, etc.).
• Prior involvement in recreation training, program development, or recreation technology initiatives.
• CPR/First Aid certification or specialized certifications (CPRP, CTRS, camp director credentials) is a plus.
• Familiarity with AI or technology-driven recreation applications is a plus.
