Physician Assistant Expert

PA-C certified physician assistants to build the clinical reasoning scenarios frontier AI labs use to test model judgment. $80 to $120/hr, remote, async, paid weekly.

AfterQuery builds the expert evaluation data that frontier AI labs use to measure and improve their models. We're hiring PA-C certified physician assistants as contractors to author and grade the clinical reasoning scenarios those evaluations run on.

What you'll actually do

• Author realistic clinical scenarios from presentation through workup and plan, the kind a practicing PA actually manages.
• Write reference answers with the clinical reasoning behind each decision, differentials weighed and red flags named.
• Grade model output for diagnostic accuracy, guideline concordance, and patient safety.
• Flag advice that reads plausible but would harm the patient, the misses only a clinician would catch.

Who this is for

• Physician assistants with current PA-C certification, an active state license, and at least two years of practice.
• PAs from any specialty, emergency, surgery, primary care, hospital medicine, and beyond.
• Clinicians who can articulate why a workup is ordered, not just what the protocol says.
• People with strong written English who can turn clinical judgment into clear, teachable reasoning.

Contract and pay

• $80 to $120/hr, paid weekly via Stripe. Your rate is set from your experience, not negotiated down after you start.
• Fully remote, fully async. No fixed hours, it fits around clinical shifts.
• Minimum 10 hours per week, no maximum. Scale up or down week to week.
• No screen recording, no keystroke monitoring, no idle timers.
• Independent contractor. Ongoing project work rather than single task batches.

How our hiring process works

2. Resume review. Every application gets read against a published rubric and gets a decision.
3. Written assessment. You may be asked to take a written assessment for further placement.
4. Onboarding. Sign the contractor agreement, connect Stripe, and get platform access.
5. Project match. You're matched to live work in your specialty, usually within a week of onboarding.

Required Qualifications

• Current PA-C certification (NCCPA) in good standing
• Active state PA license
• 2+ years of clinical practice beyond PA school rotations
• Clear written English for documenting clinical reasoning
• Able to commit at least 10 hours per week

Preferred Qualifications

• Emergency, surgical, or primary care specialty depth
• Precepting, teaching, or chart review experience
• CAQ specialty credential
