Overview
Handshake is looking for individuals with experience in medical imaging and image analysis to support AI research through flexible, hourly contract work. This is not a traditional role. You’ll draw on your hands-on experience with tasks like CT/MRI analysis, image segmentation, or surgical planning to evaluate AI-generated outputs and provide feedback that helps improve how AI systems understand medical imaging and clinical workflows.

The position is remote and asynchronous - work independently from wherever you are.Flexible hours and the ability to work remotely, with no minimum commitment to hours.Project work includes and is not limited to developing domain-specific prompts and evaluating LLM responses.Learn new skills while contributing to the changing world of AI across various disciplines.Placement into a project will be dependent on project availability.
Qualifications
At least 1+ year of hands-on experience working with medical imaging data (e.g., CT, MRI, or other volumetric imaging modalities)Experience with image segmentation, annotation, or 3D visualization workflowsFamiliarity with one or more relevant tools, such as:3D Slicer, ITK-SNAP, MITKImageJ / FijiOther medical imaging or visualization softwareAbility to interpret and work with DICOM or similar medical imaging formatsComfort working independently and asynchronously
