Medical Assistant Expert

AfterQuery is seeking Medical Assistant Experts to create and refine healthcare reasoning challenges for our AI training modules. In this remote, flexible role, you will design and evaluate clinical scenarios that test the AI's ability to interpret and apply medical assisting principles, ensuring that our models can navigate real-world healthcare situations with precision and practical accuracy. Your expertise will help bridge the gap between hands-on clinical practice and innovative AI solutions, making a tangible impact on the future of healthcare technology.

Commitment: 15 hours/week | Pay: $40 - $50/hr | Type: Contract

Responsibilities

• Develop high-quality clinical questions and case studies that challenge AI models on topics such as patient intake, vital signs assessment, medical procedures, EHR documentation, clinical laboratory procedures, pharmacology basics, and more.
• Evaluate and validate model responses, offering detailed feedback to ensure clinical accuracy and adherence to medical assisting standards of practice.
• Collaborate with a team of healthcare and technical experts to fine-tune question difficulty and ensure content is both challenging and educational.

Required Qualifications

• Active Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA, or equivalent) in good standing.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent training.
• Proven experience in clinical practice with a robust understanding of various medical assisting responsibilities across clinical and administrative functions.
• Exceptional analytical, written, and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail.

Preferred Qualifications

• Multiple years of medical assisting practice or substantial clinical experience, ideally across diverse healthcare settings (primary care, specialty clinics, urgent care, etc.).
• Prior involvement in healthcare training, quality improvement initiatives, or healthcare technology projects.
• Additional certifications in specialized areas (phlebotomy, EKG, etc.) is a plus.
