Mechanical Engineering Expert

AfterQuery is seeking Mechanical Engineering Experts to create and refine engineering challenges for our AI training modules. In this remote, flexible role, you will design and evaluate mechanical engineering scenarios that test the AI's ability to interpret and apply complex mechanical systems and design principles, ensuring that our models can navigate real-world design, analysis, and problem-solving situations with precision and technical accuracy. Your expertise will help bridge the gap between rigorous mechanical engineering practice and innovative AI solutions, making a tangible impact on the future of engineering technology.

Commitment: 15 hours/week | Pay: $75 - $115/hr | Type: Contract

Responsibilities

• Develop high-quality mechanical engineering questions and case studies that challenge AI models on topics such as thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, machine design, materials selection, stress analysis, heat transfer, dynamics, CAD/CAM, HVAC systems, and more.
• Evaluate and validate model responses, offering detailed feedback to ensure technical accuracy and adherence to mechanical engineering standards and best practices.
• Collaborate with a team of engineering and technical experts to fine-tune question difficulty and ensure content is both challenging and educational.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline from an accredited program.
• Proven experience in mechanical engineering practice, design, or analysis with a robust understanding of mechanical engineering principles and methodologies.
• Exceptional analytical, written, and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail.

Preferred Qualifications

• Multiple years of mechanical engineering experience, ideally across diverse applications and industries (aerospace, automotive, energy, HVAC, manufacturing, etc.).
• Prior involvement in engineering publications, standards development, or engineering technology initiatives.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license, advanced degree (MS, PhD), or relevant certifications is a plus.
• Familiarity with AI or technology-driven mechanical engineering applications is a plus.
