Finance Domain Expert

About Turing:

Based in San Francisco, California, Turing is the world’s leading research accelerator for frontier AI labs and a trusted partner for global enterprises deploying advanced AI systems. Turing supports customers in two ways: first, by accelerating frontier research with high-quality data, advanced training pipelines, plus top AI researchers who specialize in coding, reasoning, STEM, multilinguality, multimodality, and agents; and second, by applying that expertise to help enterprises transform AI from proof of concept into proprietary intelligence with systems that perform reliably, deliver measurable impact, and drive lasting results on the P&L

Overview -Role Overview:

We are looking for a Finance Data Associate to develop high-quality reference datasets for AI training. In this role, you will be given raw financial data and "prompts" to create accurate, professional-grade end-state documents. You are the "Source of Truth" for the AI, ensuring that the logic, formatting, and financial accuracy of every output are flawless.

Qualifications & Background

  • Education: Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics. Candidates with CFA / CA / CPA qualification will be highly preferred
  • Experience: 2–5 years in a hands-on financial role (e.g., Financial Analyst, Auditor, or Accounts Manager).
  • Mindset: Extreme attention to detail. You must enjoy the "cleanup" and "build" phase of financial modeling.

Technical Proficiencies

  • Advanced Excel: Deep comfort with data manipulation (lookups, pivots, nested logic) and financial modeling (NPV, IRR, DCF, sensitivity tables).
  • Financial Reporting: Ability to synthesize raw General Ledger (GL) data into GAAP-standard P&L, Balance Sheets, and Cash Flow statements.
  • Multi-Platform Documentation: Skilled at translating spreadsheet data into executive-level Word memos, PDF reports, and dashboard visualizations.

Key Responsibilities (Functional Groupings)

Instead of a list of tasks, your daily work will fall into these four pillars:

  • Financial Planning & Strategic Analysis: Build and maintain rolling forecasts (13-week cash, 24-month runway) and valuation models (DCF, Comp tables, M&A accretion).
    • Execute scenario-based modeling, such as price-sensitivity and capital project ranking.
  • Core Accounting & Audit Operations: Manage the monthly close process by reconciling bank statements to GL and preparing audit working papers.
    • Calculate tax provisions and perform overhead allocations across departments.
  • Performance Reporting & Dashboards: Develop KPI dashboards with visual indicators (trend lines, traffic-lights) and perform variance analysis (Actuals vs. Budget).
    • Analyze customer behavior through revenue cohorts and retention curves.
  • Specialized Commercial Underwriting: Perform risk-rated quoting and rental underwriting (Cap rates, exit sensitivities) for various business units.

Offer Details:

  • Commitments Required: at least 4 hours per day and minimum 30 hours per week with 4 hours of overlap with PST.
  • Engagement type: Contractor
  • Engagement Length: 2 weeks

Evaluation Process -

  • Shortlisted candidates will be sent a Job Interest Form.
  • After the profile review, an assessment will be shared, which must be completed within 48 hours
  • Based on the assessment outcomes, shortlisted candidates will be contacted to discuss the pre‑onboarding requirements.ent..
