Excel Expert

This is a remote, project-based role for Excel and spreadsheet modeling experts with deep proficiency in advanced Excel techniques and data analysis. You will complete tasks spanning complex spreadsheet builds, financial modeling, data cleaning, automation, and dashboard development. Work is over the next 2–3 weeks, asynchronous, and assigned on a project-by-project basis, with an expected commitment of 5–20 hours per week for the projects you accept. Commitment: 10 hours/week | Pay: $40 - $80/hr | Type: Contract

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain complex Excel models including financial models, forecasting tools, scenario analyses, and operational dashboards
• Design and implement advanced formulas, pivot tables, Power Query workflows, and VBA/macro automation
• Clean, transform, and structure large datasets for analysis and reporting
• Develop clear, visually polished Excel dashboards and reports for business stakeholders
• Document spreadsheet logic, assumptions, and methodologies clearly and reproducibly

Required Qualifications

• Demonstrable expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel including advanced formulas, Power Query, pivot tables, and VBA
• Proven track record of delivering complex spreadsheet models or data tools in a professional setting
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently on technical and analytical tasks
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, Data Science, Business, Mathematics, or a related field

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with financial modeling, FP&A, or business intelligence workflows
• Familiarity with Excel add-ins and integrations (e.g., Power BI, Solver, or similar)
• Experience automating Excel workflows using Python (e.g., openpyxl, xlwings) or VBA macros
• Background in teaching or training others in Excel, data analysis, or financial modeling
