Key Responsibilities:

  1. Advise on and interpret complex privacy regulations, including GDPR, ePrivacy, CCPA/CPRA, LGPD, and other global frameworks.
  2. Conduct privacy risk assessments, data protection impact assessments (DPIAs), and build governance frameworks fit for AI-driven operations.
  3. Draft, review, and update privacy policies, data processing agreements (DPAs), standard contractual clauses (SCCs), and associated contract language.
  4. Ensure compliance of cross-border data transfers and maintain robust records of processing activities (RoPAs) and compliance controls.
  5. Provide clear, actionable guidance to business, technology, and security teams, translating complex regulations into practical advice.
  6. Design and deliver engaging training sessions to upskill staff on privacy requirements and best practices in AI contexts.
  7. Facilitate effective written and verbal communication with stakeholders, influencing leadership and supporting privacy-by-design initiatives.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  1. Minimum 3 years’ professional experience as a Data Privacy & GDPR Counsel or related legal privacy role.
  2. Expert knowledge of GDPR, ePrivacy, cross-border data transfer mechanisms, DPIAs, DPO obligations, and emerging global privacy laws such as CCPA/CPRA, LGPD, and PIPEDA.
  3. Proven ability to conduct privacy risk assessments, develop governance frameworks, and maintain compliance documentation.
  4. Strong policy drafting skills and experience reviewing DPAs, SCCs, consent mechanisms, and privacy provisions in commercial contracts.
  5. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with a keen attention to detail and ability to simplify complex concepts.
  6. Demonstrated experience in advising diverse business teams, delivering privacy training, and collaborating with IT/security stakeholders.
  7. Self-motivated, adaptable, and proactive professional who thrives in a remote team setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Certifications such as CIPP/E, CIPM, CIPT, or equivalent.
  2. Experience supporting AI or technology-driven business models with privacy compliance programs.
  3. Background in designing and implementing privacy-by-design processes within innovative projects.
