Job Summary:

Join our customer's team as a Commercial Pilot - AI trainer and help shape the future of aviation technology. In this unique part-time, remote position, you'll contribute your expertise as a subject matter expert (SME) to train cutting-edge artificial intelligence systems. Use your in-depth knowledge of commercial flight operations to ensure next-generation AI tools reflect real-world, practical piloting skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide detailed insights and feedback on aviation-related data for AI training and validation.
  • Collaborate with AI development teams to create realistic scenarios reflecting commercial pilot operations, including charter, air ambulance, and air tour missions.
  • Contribute to the development of AI models by annotating, reviewing, and refining flight navigation and safety data.
  • Document and communicate complex procedures and best practices in clear, concise written and verbal formats.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert, ensuring AI technologies accurately represent the skills, decision-making, and standards of commercial pilots.
  • Stay updated on industry regulations and best practices and relay relevant information to guide AI training efforts.
  • Participate in periodic virtual meetings to discuss project progress and suggest improvements to AI training modules.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Valid Commercial Pilot certificate with significant hands-on experience piloting and navigating fixed-wing aircraft or helicopters in non-scheduled operations.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of flight operations including charter, EMS helicopter, and air tour flights.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to document procedures and provide constructive feedback on technical topics.
  • Familiarity with industry protocols, regulations, and safety standards relevant to commercial pilots.
  • Comfort working remotely and collaborating with cross-functional technical teams.
  • Strong analytical skills with the capacity to translate complex aviation concepts for AI development.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience as a Captain, Check Airman, EMS Helicopter Pilot, or similar leadership roles.
  • Previous participation in training, technical writing, or AI/technology projects.
  • Demonstrated passion for innovation and improving aviation safety and efficiency through technology.
