Biology Expert
Overview
Handshake is recruiting exceptional doctoral students, candidates, and graduates in Biology to join our AI research community. This program brings subject-matter experts together to enhance the capabilities of Large Language Models (LLMs) across specialized domains such as Molecular & Cellular Biology, Anatomy & Physiology, Plant & Fungal Biology, Invertebrate & Insect Biology, and Ecological & Environmental Biology. The Handshake AI Fellowship program runs year-round, though project availability will vary by domain.

Qualifications
- PhD students, postdocs, or recent PhDs in biology, with research experience in areas including but not limited to:
- Molecular & Cellular Biology: genetics/molecular biology, microbiology, pathology
- Anatomy & Physiology: anatomy/histology, zoology
- Plant & Fungal Biology: botany, mycology
- Invertebrate & Insect Biology: entomology, marine biology
- Ecological & Environmental Biology: ecology
- Able to participate in primarily asynchronous work in partnership with leading AI labs.
- Believe your expertise can outmatch current AI systems in understanding and explaining key concepts in your field.
