AfterQuery is seeking Behavioral Economist Experts to create and refine behavioral economics challenges for training AI models. In this remote, flexible role, you will design and evaluate scenarios that test the AI's ability to interpret and apply complex behavioral economics principles, ensuring that our models can navigate real-world decision-making, cognitive biases, and choice architecture with precision and analytical insight. Your expertise will help bridge the gap between rigorous behavioral economics research and innovative AI solutions, making a tangible impact on the future of economic technology.
Commitment: 10 hours/week | Pay: $60 - $100/hr | Type: Contract
Responsibilities
- Develop high-quality behavioral economics questions and case studies that challenge AI models on topics such as cognitive biases, heuristics, prospect theory, loss aversion, framing effects, choice architecture, nudge design, experimental design, and more.
- Evaluate and validate model responses, offering detailed feedback to ensure accuracy and adherence to behavioral economics research standards and best practices.
- Collaborate with a team of behavioral science and technical experts to fine-tune question difficulty and ensure content is both challenging and educational.
Required Qualifications
- Master's or PhD degree in Economics, Behavioral Economics, Psychology, or related field.
- Proven experience in behavioral economics research, experimental design, or applied behavioral science with a robust understanding of behavioral theory and empirical methods.

Preferred Qualifications
- Multiple years of behavioral economics experience, ideally across diverse applications (academic research, policy design, corporate consulting, product design, etc.).
- Prior involvement in behavioral economics publications, experimental studies, or behavioral science initiatives.
- Experience with nudge design, choice architecture, A/B testing, or behavioral interventions is a plus.
- Familiarity with AI or technology-driven behavioral applications is a plus.
