Audio and Video Technician Expert

AfterQuery is seeking Audio and Video Technician Experts to create and refine audiovisual production challenges for training AI models. In this remote, flexible role, you will design and evaluate technical scenarios that test the AI's ability to interpret and apply complex audio and video production principles, ensuring that our models can navigate real-world equipment operation, troubleshooting, and production workflows with precision and technical accuracy. Your expertise will help bridge the gap between hands-on audiovisual production practice and innovative AI solutions, making a tangible impact on the future of media technology.

Commitment: 15 hours/week | Pay: $35 - $75 / hour | Type: Contract

Responsibilities

• Develop high-quality audiovisual questions and case studies that challenge AI models on topics such as signal flow, equipment setup, microphone techniques, lighting design, camera operation, mixing and editing, troubleshooting, live streaming, and more.
• Evaluate and validate model responses, offering detailed feedback to ensure technical accuracy and adherence to audiovisual production standards and best practices.
• Collaborate with a team of media production and technical experts to fine-tune question difficulty and ensure content is both challenging and educational.

Required Qualifications

• Technical certification or associate degree in Audio/Video Production, Broadcast Technology, or related field (or equivalent professional experience).
• Proven experience in audio and video production, live event support, or broadcast operations with a robust understanding of audiovisual equipment and workflows.
• Exceptional analytical, written, and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail.

Preferred Qualifications

• Multiple years of audio/video technician experience, ideally across diverse production environments (live events, studio recording, broadcast, corporate AV, post-production, etc.).
• Prior involvement in production teams, technical training, or media technology initiatives.
• Industry certifications (CTS, Dante, Avixa, etc.) or specialized training in audio engineering, video production, or broadcast technology is a plus.
• Familiarity with AI or technology-driven media production applications is a plus.
